In between the challenging times of the COVID-19 lockdown, our esteemed client in the USA spotted a remarkable opportunity to revolutionize the apartment rental market with an idea to create a web portal for Real Estate. Recognizing the need for a safer and more convenient way to explore rental properties, the client envisioned a cutting-edge platform that would offer a property management & leasing system by featuring self-guided tours. These self-guided tours would enable prospective tenants to virtually visit and explore properties independently, ensuring safety while maintaining the essence of a firsthand experience.
Eager to bring this brilliant concept to life, our client reached out to our web application development team. Collaborating closely, we embarked on discussions, meticulously planned the implementation strategy, and then set out to develop and deploy this ingenious idea. The goal was to create a platform that would revolutionize the way people interact with rental properties, providing a convenient, immersive, and safe experience for potential tenants exploring their future homes.
What We Did
In a strategic move to reduce reliance on agents, our client envisioned a solution by introducing kiosks as an important element in the property rental process. These kiosks were intended to revolutionize the way property viewings were conducted, aiming to provide visitors with an autonomous and immersive experience. To materialize this vision, our responsibility was to seamlessly integrate these kiosks with the app, ensuring their functionality and synchronization with the platform.
Our web application development team rose to the challenge by creating two distinct web portals for Real Estate—one catering to administrators (comprising property agents, owners, and managers) and the other tailored for visitors seeking property viewings. The system was designed to streamline the process: when an agent was allocated a specific property, they would place the corresponding key in a designated kiosk located within the building. Subsequently, while creating an appointment for a property viewing, the agent would reference the respective locker number, enabling prospective visitors to access the key securely.
This innovative approach sought to empower visitors with greater autonomy during property tours, offering a self-guided experience that eliminated the need for direct agent involvement in the viewing process. The integration of technology with physical kiosks aimed to enhance convenience, efficiency, and accessibility, thereby redefining the landscape of property exploration and rental interactions.
Noteworthy Features
- User Verification: A multi-level screening process through Stripe integration ensures that every potential renter is verified and genuine.
- Scheduling: The leasing schedule and apartment availability are completely customizable. The leasing team and rental property management software are notified when a tour is scheduled.
- Navigation: Web-based navigation (no apps to download!) gives potential renters turn-by-turn directions that seamlessly guide them through the amenities and to the apartment.
- Twilio: Twilio chat integration was done to help visitors ask instant queries to the agents to boost the reliability of the Pineapple.
- Key Tracking: The location of the key and its status are updated in the system
Highlights
This application lays out several key highlights designed for UI/UX improvement. One of the standout features was the introduction of self-guided tours with immersive viewing. To facilitate this, an innovative system was implemented where visitors received SMS notifications containing a unique Kiosk code, enabling them to access property keys securely stored in designated lockers. We streamlined the appointment booking process, ensuring seamless scheduling for property viewings. Integration with Stripe payment gateway for user verification adds an extra layer of security, enhancing trust and safety within the platform.
